ABOUT THE GAME & RULES

Game Setup

1. Both players play manually. No computer, AI, bots or chatbots.
2. The game is played on a 10 × 10 board.
3. Each game starts with a completely RANDOM positioning of both kings, all other pieces, and pawns, subject to the following conditions:
   • Pawns cannot occupy the first row of the side to which they belong, even during the initial random placement.
   • Bishops of either side may occupy and operate on squares of the same colour if such a configuration occurs in the initial random position.
4. In the initial random position:
   • If the kings of both sides occupy adjacent squares, the game is declared a "Draw".
   • If the black king is checkmated and cannot be defended by any means, the result is "White wins by checkmate".
   • If the white king is checkmated and cannot be defended by any means, the result is "Black wins by checkmate".
   • If the black king is under a check that can be defended, White must make a move other than capturing the black king. Capturing the king is not allowed. A game can only end in checkmate; the king cannot be captured. However, to add to the fun, the white rook, white bishop, and white queen are allowed to JUMP over the black king on the FIRST move.
   • If none of the above conditions apply, the game proceeds as a normal game.

Game Credits & Play

1. On signing up with a new account on the website, you are entitled to 5 free game credits.
2. When an inviter sends an invitation, the invitee must first click the "Play Game" button on the dashboard and then go to "Game History" to "accept & play".
3. Both the inviter and the invitee must have an account on www.chess100.in before they can play a two-device game.
4. Each game you play consumes "game credits" as follows:
   • 1 (one) game credit for each game played on a single device.
   • 1/2 (half) game credit for each game played on two devices.
5. You can enlarge the "Move History", one view at a time.
